On January 1, 2014 the State of New Mexico revamped its Medicaid program and implemented Centennial Care. Centennial Care is the new name for the New Mexico Medicaid program and covers physical health, behavioral health, long-term care and community benefits. The Human Services Division (HSD) of New Mexico awarded four Managed Care Organizations (MCO's) the State contract to service New Mexico residents who are eligible for Medicaid and who enroll with an MCO. The four MCO's who were selected are Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico, Molina Healthcare, Presbyterian and United Healthcare.

Once a member is eligible and enrolled in Centennial Care they can select one of the four MCO's and may be eligible for community benefits. Community benefits are services like adult day health, respite care and personal care services. One of the goals of community benefits is to help keep people living in the comfort of their own homes and communities. To find out more information please contact our office at (505) 898-9745.

AIDS Waiver

The Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome Waiver (AIDS Waiver) serves individuals who are disabled due to a diagnosis of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. Services provided through the AIDS waiver are case management, homemaker/personal care and private duty nursing by registered nurses and licensed practical nurses. The New Mexico AIDS Waiver program is administered through a partnership between the New Mexico Human Services Department (HSD) and the New Mexico Department of Health/Public Health Division (DOH/POD).

Community Benefits

Community benefits are services like adult day health, respite care and personal care services that help to keep people in their homes and communities.

Environmental Modifications

Environmental Modifications also knows as E-Mods are internal and external physical adaptations or alterations to a home which are necessary to ensure the health, welfare and safety of a member. These modifications allow the member to function with greater independence and allow the member to continue living in the comfort of their home.

Respite Care:

Respite care is the provision of short-term, temporary relief to those who are caring for family member who might otherwise require permanent placement in a facility outside the members' home. Even though many families take great joy in providing care to their loved ones so that they can remain in the comfort of their own home, the physical, emotional and financial burden for the family caregiver or personal care attendant can become overwhelming without some type of support service, such as respite care.

Self-Directed:

Self-Directed Community Benefits (SDCB) formerly known as the Mi Via program provides a community-based alternative to institutional care that offers the member a more customized choice for directing his or her choice of services and benefits. The member can choose the direction of care and have control over the supports and services they feel they need. Self-Directed Community Benefits is an alternative to the more traditional type of services such as the community benefits that can be offered by a provider agency. Members receiving services through the Self-Directed Community Benefits model will have to select a Support Broker who is with a Support Broker Agency that is contracted with the members MCO.
